Privacy Policy
The short version: your save file never leaves your browser. There's no upload and no account. This site does use an optional, cookie-based analytics tool (Google Analytics) to understand which editors people use — but it only loads after you accept the cookie banner, and it never sees anything from your save file. The rest of this page explains exactly what that means and what data does exist.
Your save file
Every editor on this site reads your file using the browser's File API, processes it entirely in JavaScript running on your own machine, and hands the result back as a local download. There is no upload endpoint anywhere on this site — a tool page has nothing to send your file to, even if it wanted to. You can verify this yourself: disconnect from the internet after a tool page has loaded, and every editor still works.
Accounts and personal data
There are no user accounts on SaveFileEditors. We don't ask for your name, email, or any personal information to use any tool. Nothing you type into an editor, and nothing from your save file, is collected, stored, or sent anywhere by us.
Cookies and analytics
SaveFileEditors uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate traffic — things like which editor pages get used, roughly where visitors come from, and basic device/browser info. This runs entirely separately from the tools themselves: it has no access to your save file, nothing you type into an editor, or anything you download.
The analytics script does not load by default. On your first visit you'll see a cookie banner with Accept and Reject buttons; nothing from Google is requested unless and until you click Accept. If you click Reject, or close the tab without choosing, no analytics cookie is ever set. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer, which reopens the banner.
We don't run any advertising script, and no data from this site is used for ad personalization.
Server logs
SaveFileEditors is hosted on Cloudflare's network. Like virtually any web host, Cloudflare may log basic technical connection data as a normal part of serving any website — things like IP address, request timestamp, and browser type. We don't access, analyze, or otherwise use this data ourselves; it exists only as part of how the hosting infrastructure operates.
Third-party services
Every font, stylesheet, and script the tools themselves depend on is self-hosted — nothing loads from a third party by default. The one exception is Google Analytics, described above, which only loads if you accept the cookie banner. Google's own privacy policy covers how it handles that data: policies.google.com/privacy.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change with it. Material changes (like adding analytics) will be called out clearly, not buried in a date update.
